Kathmandu Flood Appeal

Restoring hope after 2023's devastating floods

Kathmandu Flood Appeal: Emergency water supplies

In August 2024, just after being hit with a glacier flood in Khumbu Valley, Nepal’s capital city Kathmandu was struck with devastating flooding.

Sadly, this resulted in the loss of life and thousands more people being displaced. The floodwater destroyed homes and left communities in desperate need of basic necessities.

Once again, we called upon you, our amazing supporters, to come to the aid of those impacted by this new natural disaster.

Thanks to your generosity we were able to work with our in-country NGO partners, Bighnaharta Nepal, to provide:

  • 5,100 meters of 20mm pipelines were provided for plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler systems, drainage, irrigation, and sewage systems.
  • 5,000 meters of 25mm pipelines were provided for water distribution, cold water plumbing and household water connections.
  • 1,002 meters of 32mm pipelines were provided for water supply and insulation.

The provision of new pipelines enabled the redevelopment of critical infrastructure, supported access to clean and reliable water that will improve health outcomes, and helped enhance the overall quality of life after such a disaster.

Together, we redefine what’s possible.
