Trash Trek

Clean local - think global

Working together to make a local impact

At the Nimsdai Foundation, we believe that protecting the mountains begins with each of us taking action through the choices we make in our own communities. We all have a responsibility to nurture and care for the natural environment everywhere.

Trash Trek is our latest initiative to tackle the growing issue of waste left on mountains, while inspiring people to take responsibility closer to home.

Every mountain tells the story of those who climb it, and too often that story is marked by the waste that is left behind. With Trash Trek, we’re applying what we’ve learned from cleaning the world’s highest peaks to community clean-ups here at home.

By taking part, you’ll help protect the places we love while raising awareness of our Big Mountain Clean Up campaign and vital funds for Big Mountain Clean Up 2026 - Kilimanjaro.

Why It Matters

Litter doesn’t just look bad, it pollutes our water, harms wildlife, and impacts our mental wellbeing. But the solution is simple: every small action adds up.

When we come together to clean up, we don’t just change the landscape, we build a stronger, prouder, cleaner community.

This campaign sees our community organising walks and treks in their local area to remove trash and waste.

These events bring together education, awareness, and hands-on action with Trash Trek and the impact is huge. Our very first event removed over 175kg from the local environment, equivalent to the waste generated by a average UK household in 2.5 months!

You can join our litter pick, or organise your own clean-up in your community, because every action counts.

Pick it. Bag it. Feel good

Trash Trek is your chance to join a group litter pick or blaze your own trail. Whether you're rolling solo, bringing your kids, or rallying your work colleagues, we invite you to clean up your parks, streets, trails, beaches, and green spaces, one piece of litter at a time.

-Make an impact in your own backyard

-Meet like-minded locals who care

-Have fun while doing good

-All ages and abilities welcome!
