Community unites for epic 32-mile hike

Over 100 determined walkers from the local community came together for an unforgettable journey along the South Coast Path, as part of the “It’s Going To Get Hairy” 32-mile charity hike.

The event, which raised vital funds and awareness for the Nimsdai Foundation, saw participants take on dramatic elevation changes, endure harsh weather conditions, and complete an emotional 12-hour trek, all in the name of a cause close to their hearts.

Sun, rain, wind, and sheer determination

The route, renowned for its beauty as much as its difficulty, pushed hikers to their limits with steep ascents, punishing descents, and unpredictable weather that threw everything from sunshine to sideways rain. Yet despite the challenges, spirits remained high. The sheer determination showcased the best of community strength and resilience.

There were blisters, aching legs, and moments of exhaustion, but also laughter, motivation, and even a few tears. The final steps across the finish line were emotional and everyone had a deep sense of accomplishment.

More Than a Hike, A Community Movement

The event wasn’t just about distance; it was about connection. Friends, families, and even strangers walked side-by-side, sharing stories, snacks, and support. Volunteers dotted the route offering support, first aid, and refreshments.

This wasn’t just a physical challenge. It was a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together for something bigger than ourselves
